It’s looking for the image here:
grocerylist/wp-content/themes/anthurium/images/banner.jpg
so if you have banner.jpg, upload and you’ll be fine.
i have a banner jpg and a gif for the background. am i i loaded them in the directory when i uploaded the other elements. am i now to upload them and put them in the style sheet? i’m new to this and am using this (grocerylist blog) to test things out rather than break my main blog :O)
The images for a theme should be in their own directory named “images”… under the theme’s directory, like
/themes/anthurium/images/
It looks like you put them in the theme folder. You need to put them into an images folder within the theme folder.
oh! didn’t realize that. heading off to try that out. thanks…i’ll let you know once i get that little kink worked out.
ok…i’m confused. in the control panel i click on the grocery list folder, then on the anthurium folder. there is now an images folder and when i open it the three jpgs/gifs are there but they still aren’t showing on the blog. i’m smart enough to know i screwed the pooch somewhere along the way but not smart enough to know how to fix it :O)
No worries 🙂
Two possibles:
1 – permissions
Set the permissions on the images to 777
see what happens. If good, 🙂 if not
Set permissions on the images folder to 755
see what happens. If good, 🙂 if not
Try 777 and see what gives then ……..
2 – broken on upload.
This would be delete / reupload, but I think it will be permissions.
well, i tried to reset the permissions and i’m still having problems. i think the problem is actually setting up a directory themes/anthurium/images…can’t seem to get that set up. looked at my other blog (http://www.clothesknit.com) to see how it was configured and the lady that set it up for me doesn’t have a separate images folder under daisyraegemini/theme…will have to give it another shot tomorrow morning when i’m mentally fresh. thanks!
Anthurium has an image folder for sure. I have it on my local install.
yep, i know it has an image folder. maybe i’m uploading it wrong. i open the folder and load each item in the directory. should i be uploading it as a folder instead?
Yes. You should have various files in the anthurium folder, AND an images folder in which all of the anthurium images belong.
while i can’t figure out what i was doing wrong before i thank you for your help…all is as it should be now and the images appeared! thanks!
There you go! Glad it’s working….
