how to add header image

    Hello wordpress community, thank you for reading my post

    i am trying to add an image in the header, i have tried updating the header.php file by adding this code

    <img src=”images/header_pic.png” alt=”Happy People”/>

    but nothing happens, i want to picture to be in all my pages.

    Any suggestions?
