Contact 7 form

Hello everyone, I am new to WP and am trying to install my contact page. I have downloaded the contact 7 form plugin with captcha and wet everything up according to a tutorial and it still does not work. I assume I am using the most up to date version of WP self hosting software and while searching for a solution, I have come across some pages that claim that contact 7 does not work with newest release of WP. As is stands, anyone trying to contact me receives a “failed to send your message please contact administer another way” in a red box.

Please help
