• We have a functioning multilingual cityguide with user comments, citygonodotcom. We contracted a migration to wordpress and the result is so unimpressive , we’re not sure whether to bin it or fix it. http://webhawkstechnology.com/city_go/

We requested all the existing functionality, multilanguage, mother-child database hierarchies (island-city-zone), banner management, manually editable Google maps, newsletter signups for users, autocomplete data for new insertions, photo management, etc.

Apart from the apalling design (not even remotely similar to the existing site), does one accept it and get someone else to fix it or does one bin it ?

  • I haven’t looked at your sites, but no need to answer your question

Everything you are looking for, WP is able to handle fantastically.

If you requested that functionality, and did not get it, you have a crappy developer

I would not accept anything less than what was requested from a developer.

(That is, so long as your instructions were, in fact, perfectly clear, and you are paying the appropriate fee for the amount of work requested)

Yes, I know WP is great, which is why I want to migrate. The question however is “is it worth keeping the site and fixing it or better to start from zero again” ?

Only you can answer that one. You can fix it, but it requires work :/
