[Plugin: WP Super Cache] Plugin removed improperly results in error behavior in WP

    We were running WP Super Cache 0.9.9.9 but one day we got these odd characters on every page of the WP installation including Admin:
    

    Since I had not chance to login and remove the plugin properly I removed the catalogue by FTP and the error with the strange characters disappeared. Now however we have a new error since the WP installation complains that WP Super Cache was not uninstalled correctly and also it seems WP is still caching pages.

    Has WP Super Cache left some changes on the WP Core files that I need to go in and change manually?
