• Greetings,
I’m currently optimising a WordPress site and I can’t seem to edit the home page. I’ve looked around and saw that many other people were having this problem, but none of the suggested solutions have worked for me. The home page is not located in either the “post” or “pages” categories. I tried creating a new page entitled home and set it as a static front page but when I did that the header didn’t display correctly and the original “home” link was still displayed, giving the appearance of 2 home pages. Is there any way I could go into the template to edit the existing home page as there’s seemingly no other way to access it for editing?

The home page is, unless you use a static front page, dynamically generated. What are you trying to edit?

I’ve managed to edit the home page by editing the main index template. However, I still am unsure of how I would go about adding description and title tags within the main index template. What would be the best way of doing that?
