Custom Smilies not saving text?

    Like most people I don’t particularly like the Word Press default Smilies so I downloaded this “Custom Smilies Plug-in” http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-smilies-se/
    I followed all instructions carefully and added my images to the correct folder. Next to the picture of the smilie there is a “What to type” box.
    Now comes my dilemma. When I type in the text I want used for the smilie and click “Update” it doesn’t save. Only 2 saved and that was just the basic “:)” one. I didn’t use any of the restricted characters also.

    I also checked on the forums and googled it but I found no answer.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
