Migrate local site to host

Hello:

I currently have an existing website which is not WordPress but wish to change to WP.
So I have installed WordPress on my PC via Bitnami.
My site contains about 500 pages and before I get to far along remaking my site I am wondering if there will be any issues migrating form localhost using Bitnami to a shared hosting environment.
I have read on these forums that there may be an issue with permalinks. My site will have a combination of staic pages as well as blogs. Do i need to do anything with permalinks?
