    I am interested in having a blog withing a blog. Moreover, a page that is not the front page, that can have a collective of writers whom can post. I have done some reading about people who have the same interest, but I have not found any solutions. Is the only solution having the link point to a secondary url that serves for it, aka, a new blog/ webpage

    You can set up WordPress to have a custom Page as the home page instead of displaying blog posts under Options->Reading
