Not All Thumbnails Appearing
-
I’ve followed all of your instructions but still can’t seem to get all of my thumbnails to appear. I’ve rechecked to make sure all 6 promotions are under the same category and aren’t in draft mode.
Can we only have 5 at a time? My sixth one is missing.
Thanks much,
Lisa

That’s a bit curious… are you sure you haven’t limited the number of images via the shortcode or by assigning the sixth image to another category?
I’m sure. My code looks like this:
[promoslider category=”home2″ width=”900px” height=”400px” ]
There are 7 in the category ‘home2’ and one of them is in draft mode.
Would there be another limiting setting somewhere?
Thanks,
LisaThere shouldn’t be… I would be glad to take a closer look to make sure there isn’t a kink in the plugin.
Hi,
Really nice plugin but I’m having same problem!! One thumb is missing!!
Thank you!
Actually, the thumbnail nav currently has some limitations… such as it will only show thumbnails if there is room to display them. I will be implementing a sliding thumbnail nav, but right now you can either increase the width of your slider or show one less image (or just go with it as it is now). I know it doesn’t work quite right and I will be fixing it… Sorry!
I’m not sure the width of the slider is the culprit. My images are 900 pixels wide, so there’s plenty of room for 10 more…
You can see on my home page: http://www.lisa-stewart.com
Thanks.
Let us know when you have it updated. I really love it!!

Sorry Lisa, I was responding to Dennis. Did I ever take a closer look at your problem?
No -I think I dropped the ball on that one. 😉
What should be my next step?
Lisa,
If you want to email me (click my username and use the contact form on my site), I would be glad to log in to the back end and see if I see anything odd or out of place.
Thanks, for your quick response!!
It’s a really nice plugin… I will be waiting for next update!!
Thank you!
Yikes, 5 days later… I wanted to update WP to make sure it wasn’t the issues.
I am now sending you a note now thru your contact page so that you can take a look around my code.
Lisa
Have you discovered anything Micah?
Thanks.
I’ve been at this a while and can’t seem to figure out the issue.
Problem:
It will only display the first image, the ones after are all displaying blank.– I have 5 graphics to rotate under category “home”.
– All have been added all with the featured image.
– The wp_footer() is in place.
– It’s set to random, so hitting refresh you’ll see the other images.
– I’m using WP 3.2.1Code:
<?php echo do_shortcode('[promoslider category="home" id="homepromoslider" width="355px" height="272px"] '); ?>URL:
http://healthandwellness.neteragroup.comAny ideas on this? Is it a support issue of 3.2.1?
Thanks,
ScottLisa,
I just sent you an email. I have a few ideas but wasn’t able to test them completely.
Scott,
The site link isn’t much help since a login is required. It appears that you are probably running a number of plugins, all of which could possibly impact the slider functionality. Particularly, if there is a plugin that is causing javascript errors in your browser console, there is a high chance that the Promotion Slider javascript code is not being run because of it. That would be my best guess without looking at it.
Typically, I have found that about 90% of all plugin issues are due to a conflict with another plugin. 9% are user error… and the plugin author is to blame for the rest! 🙂 So my advice is to check for conflicts between other plugins as well as your theme. If you find one, this makes problem solving much, much easier.
As far as I know, there have been no issues with the plugin and updating to the latest release of WordPress.
Sorry about that, I was testing a member access only plugin when you tried to login. 🙂
I’ve tried disabling all the plugins as well, just leaving yours active and that didn’t do the trick either. It certainly looks like a well developed plugin and wish I could get the issue unlocked. 🙂
I removed the member only access so you can access the site now.
Thanks!
UPDATE:
I’ve determined it’s an issue with the theme now. So onto the turning stuff on and off until I figure it out…UPDATE 2 – SOLVED:
I haven’t figured out yet if this include is going to have negative impact on the site functionality, but it is the file that’s causing the conflict. I commented this out in the header.php file<script language=”JavaScript” src=”/scripts/prototype.js”></script>
We’re working now. Thanks…
