Fatal error: Allowed memory size—-

I know this is a common error with lots of proposed solutions. Unfortunately, I’ve not yet found one which will work.

Here’s what I’ve done:

1. Searched the WP forum and Google for solutions.

2. Host increased php memory from 32M to 64M. No change.

3. Renamed Plugins directory. That changed the file which gave the problem but the problem still existed.

4. Added php.ini file

5. Added memory_limit 64M to php configuration

6. Backed up and re-updated to WP 3.2.1. No change.

The fact that this is a frequent problem, yet none of the solutions I’ve tried is very frustrating to me.

Additional help will be much appreciated!!!
