• Ok, maybe a silly question, but i cant find an answer after a couple of hours of searching, amending code, and trying again…

I have an Artisteer theme, with the ‘Notices’ Ticker Plugin in the First Footer Widget Area.

My problem is simply that the widget area is only about 250px wide, when my content area is 1000px – how do i force the ticker to display at 1000px?

I’ve tried altering the width in the plugin’s own stylesheet, and tried to find relevant code in the theme stylesheet, to no avail

    Help!! my head hurts!!

  • for any questions about formatting/css, please post a link to your site.

how many footer widget areas are there?

you might need to deactive/delete some of them to make space for the ticker.

a free tool such as firebug, or similar, could help you to find the corresponding style selectors used by the widget area.

    hi Alchymyth,

I cant post a link as i’m building the site on an xampp installation on my pc

using the standard 4 footer area widgets, with the ‘Notices’ widget in the first footer area, and nothing in the other 3

    update: im an idiot!

just opened the local site in dreamweaver, and although altering the plugin stylesheet in wordpress didnt change anything, altering it in exactly the same way in dreamweaver worked perfectly!!
