A white screen is a php error. Check your error logs.
Here was the problem:
Need to Install the importer before you can use it. But since I was trying to import to a sub-site (rather than the main site) I just got a blank screen rather than the “Install Plugin” screen.
Solution was to go to the main site and click import and install the importer (even though I don’t want to import the content to that site). Once the importer is installed, I could then go to the child site and import the content into it.
I think this should be bugged up and / or documented.
You know, I was going to ask if you had installed the plugin. 🙂 It is supposed to come up and tell you to install it.
Bug report would go to whoever’s in charge of the plugin.
