Have you tried switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
I guess this is resolved. The site works fine in IE 7, 9 and if FF5.
I have switched to Twenty Eleven theme and all the post do show up in single post. This is why I’ve exhausted all efforts to come here begging that someone can find out what is going on here. Therefore, it has to be something anomalous going on with this particular theme.
@kmissinger – can you please take a screen shot to show that the post content loads in single post? I’m reproducing this error on FF5, IE9, Chrome 12, and Safari. Not sure why you say it’s working. Please confirm.
Here is a direct link to one of the single-post whose excerpt appears on the main page. Single-Post. The content is absolutely blank for me. Only the title and comments show up.
Sorry, I misread the problem.
Might have something to do with these errors, http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3a%2f%2feyewitnessradio.com%2fjuly-15th-on-inception-radio-network%2f
or a javascript error, CSS3114: @font-face failed OpenType embedding permission check. Permission must be Installable.
Futura_Med.TTF
Is that the font you are using for the missing text?
Actually it looks like the javascript stops when it can’t find http://eyewitnessradio.com/wp-content/themes/distant-dawn/includes/fonts/Futura_Med.TTF or the font fails a permissions check.
The native font for this theme appears to be Georgia (11 size). I simply copied and pasted the text from the editor into Word to get this info. All text is missing from any of the post that appear on the frontpage once loaded in single-post.
The first content post on top of the page is literally just “This is a test post” written in Georgia 11 font. As you see it appears on the front page, but not the single-post url.
Would the images not load at minimum even if there was a font issue?
Looking at the source code there is no content after this <div class="entry-content">.
Try changing the permalinks to default. The demo version is different than yours.
Here is the demo link.
I have noticed there is no content loading after that entry as well. I have gone to the point of deleting the theme and re-installing it. However, I do notice that it has kept all my settings (i.e. widget locations and banner modifications and not truly reloading the default theme.
I have changed the permalinks to default as well. I have considered deleting the .htaccess file so it forces a refresh, but I don’t think that should be necessary.
Thanks, I had all ready looked at the demo.
Comparing the demo source code with yours, you have this <!-- .entry-meta --> directly after the entry-meta information. The demo does not. You also have this <!-- .entry-content --> directly in front of where the entry text should be.
So is this something that can be rectified? If so, when and where do I make the modifications? Thanks for looking into it thus far.
I put the theme on a test site and had the same problems plus more. I don’t think it is compatible with the current version of wp. Sorry we couldn’t help more.
You might try to find the theme’s developer.
hmm.. That was my next guest. I was trying to remember when the troubles begin, whether it was before or after the latest WP release. I have written the developer, but have gotten no responses in the past 3 days now.
So because this theme worked a few weeks ago and now it’s having single post issues, is this a theme developer’s responsibility to look into it? WP states that the theme is compatible. I wonder if this may be a WP 3.2.1 bug if these features worked with all the previous releases of WP.
UPDATE: The developer got in touch with me and appended a couple codes to the single.php script and now the issue has been resolved. I was alerted that they would send an update through WordPress as a result of this.
Thanks for the help Kmes-
Hi BigFeat. I am also using that theme and I am having trouble with something specific and would love to get in touch with the developer. do you still have their info? I couldn’t find it anywhere. thanks!
