Uh … What?
Are you talking about WP editing code in a post or the forums?
Are you using the HTML editor or the Visual one?
Oops, I suppose I could have been clearer. >_<
I mean using the HTML editor to write posts on my WP installation. This is something it has done at least since I started using it around version 2.7.
EDIT: I’ll write my HTML, then save, publish, update, preview, or just look at the visual editor, then go back to the HTML editor to keep writing to find my code has been modified (generally by adding unnecessary extra tags or otherwise making it overall worse).
Aaaaah! Okay. For one, don’t switch between Visual and HTML editor. Really. It’s a known issue with TinyMCE and it’s implementation. Bugs everyone. If you use the Visual editor, use it and stick with it. If you use the HTML one, ditto. But switching back and forth’ll drive you bonkers.
Note: SIMPLE posts, like the basic HTML stuff, is fine with this. But anything special and custom gets lost. And if you’re writing code to show in your posts, don’t use the visual editor at all.
Huh. Never knew that. I’ll try avoiding it and see how it goes.
Thank you, and I’ll mark this as resolved for now. 🙂
