4 columns on static page layout

    Hey there,

    hope this is the right topic to post this under!
    I am using the Twenty Ten theme and I would like to have 4 boxes horizontally aligned each with different content (although all text) on a static page. My client doesn’t have much IT experience and so I need to make these separate areas as clear as possible in the admin panel when he needs to update them.

    What would be the best way to do this? I have read a little about custom write panels and magic fields and so on but would appreciate a little input from anyone that might have other suggestions.

    You could create a child theme for Twenty Ten containing a modified page template that calls 4 custom fields, one for each column’s content.

    You know your client best; I don’t know if WordPress’ default custom fields are intuitive enough? I know the less tech-savvy users at my organization tend to be intimidated by them.

    The Magic Fields plugin might work for your purposes, too (although I haven’t tried it, personally.) The setup doesn’t look much different, just makes the custom write areas more clear for the client.

    In any case, I think you’re on the right track with custom fields. 🙂
