    Hi all,

Today I did press the automatic upgrade button as always. Everything worked as with any other upgrade, except the part, where it wants to update the database. Since I don’t have mysql 5.0 I’m stuck.
I know it is very stupid to upgrade without a correct mysql version, but i totally missed out on the news that i needed 5.0 in order to make wordpress 3.2 to work.
So here is the obviouse question, since my site is still working correctly, is there a way to undo the upgrade steps?
    with kind regards,
    M

  • Do you have a pre-upgrade database backup?

Yes, I did make a complete backup before hitting the button with ezpz backup.

    I’d suggest:

    1. Create a new database and restore your backup into the new db.
    2. Upload all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress 3.1.4
    3. Make a copy of your wp-config.php file for safekeeping, then amend the copy on the server to point to the new database.

Thank you very much for your swift answer, I’ll try to do this.
    It’s a nice challenge 🙂
