Two newb questions.

Two very newb questions, which probably aren’t dependent on the theme..

It’s the # 11 theme titled hybrid news. (I’m using this theme.)

1. How can I insert a graphic in the top banner like in the pic?
It looks like they use it for advertising.. I want to add my own logo there so the header isn’t so boring.

2. Just below the header it has the part about “Best superbowl ads” It shows the pic, and info. It looks like it’s a small preview of a post or of a page. How can I do this? I am not using posts. I am only using static pages. Can I still do this?
