Change post to page

Hello,

I am changing my site to wordpress from a website builder site.I have changed my sites home page to one of the most visited pages.But in the process of testing different things and themes,as one does when learning.

I have made a big whoopie by making it a post,not a page

I have it set up as a static website,with a page menu.

How can I correct this by not getting to technical.

Also need some advice on copy and pasting.Is it best to type all material into your page,rather than copy and paste.As some of the original formatting came through?.
