• The Manage Plugins only displays the Network Active and the Delete links, where are the Active and edit links?

  • If they are not netowrk activated, you visit a SUB site and activate them there.

If you need to edit a running plugin on your live server, go to Network admin -> Plugins -> Editor in the side menu.

It’s not incorrect; its just moved.

    Hi, andrea:
Mirna89 and I are the super admin. When we visit our manage plugins (as super admin) it doesn’t display the Active and Edit links, we tried it in another server(Virtual machine) and it worked. We are following the steps in WordPress for Dummies(By Lisa Sabin) and i don’t know where are they(the links)? We want to active bbPress for our blog but we don’t want it in the sub blogs. could you help me, please?

WordPress MultiSite installs plugisn for ALL sites. You get two options with those plugins.

    1) Network Activate for ALL sites
    2) Allow each site turn on and off

(and 3) Put it in mu-plugins and it’s on for everyone, no disables or takebacks or notices)

You’ll need another plugin to manage your … plugins.

Which edition? Because it may very well be outdated. WordPress changes fast.

Go to the site you want it activated on. Look in the plugins menu. Activate it there.

Ipstenu gave you links to *hide* it from the other sites.

Which is why I gave you those links 🙂 If you don’t do that, the other blogs WILL be able to activate bbPress, and I don’t believe it’s MultiSite cool yet.

    3 edition (August 9, 2010)

    It’s outdated.

Where can I find the last edition?
Are there other documentation about multisites administration?

You can still follow the same book, it IS really good. But expect some thing to have moved.

Also have a look at WordPress All-In-one for dummies. There’s six chapters in there about multisite, current up to 3.1 (I think) that I co-wrote with Lisa (and others).

Otherwise I have a blog at http://wpmututorials.com but it’s not meant as a manual, or you can continue to ask questions here.
