Slide show plugin installation – where do I add the code?

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/slideshow-gallery-2/installation/ I did everything besides the 5th point. What do I do there? I tried copying the <?php code into my theme’s home.php file, but nothing happened. Maybe it’s because I’m using buddypress social network. Any suggestions?
