Make folder appear as home page?

    Hi,

    I’ve got some shared webspace that hosts my homepage (ie. http://www.mypage.com ). To help keep things separate and to give me time to set up WP for the first time, I installed WordPress in a separate folder (ie. http://www.mypage.com/mywordpress/ ). I’ve finished creating the new page and I’m ready to go “live”. The problem is that if I change my domain to point to http://www.mypage.com/mywordpress/, then the webpage doesn’t work. I tried changing links on the pages to relative links (ie. ./pageTwo/ ) but that unfortunately doesn’t work. I’ve only got 12 hours before I need to change over to this new website, how do I fix this? Do I have to reinstall WordPress to the root folder and start all over again??? (I sure hope not!!!)

    I haven’t tried it yet but before I do, can you tell me if that will work if I’ve already installed everything to a folder (ie. http://www.mypage.com/mywordpress/)?

    Oops! I’ll take that back. Everything works -except- my “Contact” page. If I fill in the form and click on send, nothing happens. Any ideas?

    I investigated a bit further and if I open the Contact page in the ../mywordpress/ folder, it works, but if I open it from the root folder, it doesn’t work. Any suggestions?

    Got it! I needed to update the Permalinks. Didn’t quite understand that part of the directions, but it worked. Thanks very much for that link, that got me in the right direction. 🙂
