Allow authors to post from within website template

I am building a community based website that will rely primarily on user generated content. Each user will submit a single post with very basic requirements (Post content and tags are all that will be required)

The problem is, I don’t want new users to have to see the WP backend every time a new user registers

So what I want to do is have the ability for users to submit new posts directly within the site template on http://www.domainname.com/submit-post/ for example.

Is this possible?

And if so, how can it be done?
