I tried to add a comment to the post WPBook made on my personal page… I could do this great… however, when I clicked the link in the post it gave me this screen:

How can I make it so that when my fans click on the link in the post made by WPBook it takes them directly to my website and not a frame within facebook? Also, it doesn’t post the comment I made on my wpbook post on my site?
Sorry for all the questions, thank you for any advice 🙂
The option ( to make post links in excerpts point back to your blog outside FB) is called “use external permalinks” and it is in WPBook settings inside WordPress.
As to why the comment against your own post excerpt didn’t get posted to WordPress, what does your check permissions page say?
I now checked the “use extername permalinks” and here is what the check permissions page says:
This page is where you can check and grant extended permissions, which enable WPBook to publish to your personal wall and/or to the walls of fan pages.
The Facebook profile ID you are currently logged in to Facebook as is 1285082114. You have defined 1285082114 as your Facebook user id in WPBook Settings.
FB profile 1285082114 has granted these permissions:
offline_access – yes
read_stream – yes
publish_stream – yes
manage_pages – yes
An access token for this user has been stored.
You’ve indicated you wish to publish to this page: 94306172733
An access token corresponding to this page has been stored.
You’ve indicated you wish to publish to this group: 94306172733
The user access token includes publish stream and offline access permissions.
Now when I make a new post to my wall when I click the link it takes me to my blog 🙂 but when I make a comment on facebook the comment is not transfered to my blog??
You’ve indicated the same id for both a page and a group: 94306172733
That means one of those two is inaccurate.
Looking at http://www.facebook.com/ilivehiphop it looks like it is a page to me, not a group – there’s no “join this group” button, and Facebook shows the “create a page” set of links.
So, remove the id from the “publish to this group” setting, I’d guess – or if it actually is a “group” in Facebook terms, then remove it from the “publish to this page” setting – the point is it can’t be both.
In terms of why comments aren’t imported, that cron task runs hourly – do you know if wp-cron is working on your blog?
Thank you John.
I tried what you suggested and it worked.
I tested a comment and when Cron checked for comments from Facebook it updated. So I made a post which went direct to my FB page (via WPBOOK). I had well over 20 comments on the post and I checked for when Cron would update and it said 22.15… the time went past (cron updated and said next update would be 23.15) and none of the comments posted to my blog post??
It’s strange because when I set up a test post on the same page and made a test comment it worked when cron updated… how come it isn’t working now?
Thank you.
