• My blog is at http://www.forex-daikyblog.com – After I make a post I can view the post and it is fine, but if I then call up my blog on (for example) google, the post is not there. It only appears after several hours.

I have asked other people with internet access to check and some can see the new post but others can’t.

    What is causing this????

Are you saying that Google search results take a couple hours to sync up? That when you make a post, and then right away search for your post, it’s not on google that very second?

Cause if you are, you’ve got some unrealistic expectations to the power of the mighty G 😉

No, that is not quite it.

Sometimes after I make a post, if I then call up my blog on (for example) google, the post is not there, but if I call up my blog on one of the other PCs that we use here (still using google) the post is visible, and yet still not visible on my PC, and may not show up for several hours.

If that is local to my PC only, then it really does not matter but if it is not local to just my PC then it would matter.

You know how big Google is? And how many servers and how much caching goes on among them?

IF this is a problem, it’s with YOUR PC not refreshing the local cache. Which is highly unlikely cause Google’s set to NOT let you cache their search pages.

if I then call up my blog on (for example) google

Do me a favor – What do you mean by ‘call up my blog’ … I’m assuming you mean you’re searching google for ‘blogname titleofpost’

an are you logged in on both computers? your gogle searches will be different depending on if you’re logged in or not.

    Either way – not wordpress.

Thanks for the responses. I do appreciate your input.

    To Clarify.

When this happens I have made a post while logged in solely on my PC. I check that I am happy with the way the post looks after I publish by using the “view post” then I log out.

I am never logged in on more than one PC.

When I say that I call up my blog, I have the url book marked and I click the bookmark.

I guessed at first that I was viewing a cached page and so naturally I refreshed, but the post still was not shown.

All of the previous posts were there as if I had never made a new post and yet as I say, I could see the new post on a different PC which is connected to the same router and network.

This effect lasts not for just a few moments but for several hours.

If the problem is just a querk with my PC then it really does not matter but if some PCs will see my post while other cannot, then that would be a real problem.

I do have another WP blog and I have never had this problem with that blog.
