  • Beautiful nature blog. So nice.

Very nice site. I noticed there was nothing in your products page, you might want to put ‘Products coming soon’ message or hide the page until you put something in it. Also, the background of the website was a little odd to me, not the white of the main site but the steel looking photo along the sides of the site. I would suggest something more neutral to not distract from the photos you are posting. Just a thought. 🙂

Nice photos — I love the macro work, and the creative use of depth of field. Your eye for composition and ability to capture images well are impressive. I’m a “serious amateur” photographer myself, so I can appreciate some of the technical challenges you’ve met and conquered — for example, the details in the white flower in 0942SPO.jpg.

And you’ve got a good clean layout — good use of the Twenty Ten theme. (Be sure to create a child theme if you want to modify any of Twenty Ten’s templates or css code.)

Some notes accompanying each picture would add interest (at least where & when you took it, possibly notes on the camera / aperture / etc. for the photography geeks, etc.).

I’d like to see meaningful titles for the photos, too. With just file names like 1125SPO.jpg, the visitor can’t find an image by entering “daisy” or “bee” in the Search field. (The file naming scheme also means that the visitor clicking on the Archives links gets a list of posts called 1122SPO.jpg, 1121SPO.jpg, 0967SPO.jpg, etc. — instead of “Daisy Closeup,” “Purple Flower Bokeh,” “Vintage Popcorn Ad Mural,” or whatever names you’d want to give them.)

However, you have done a good job of giving the photos meaningful tags, so the visitor can search for terms in the Tag Cloud in the sidebar.

One last comment: If you’re not using the calendar to link to upcoming events or some kind of “On this date in photography…” listings, I’d get rid of it so the visitor can focus on the other more important stuff in the sidebar.

Good site, and I look forward to seeing more of your work! 🙂
