I like the positioning of the photo slider as well as the large photo display in itself. It really catches my attention.
I think you need to develop your welcome message more. It’s a bit bland right now (then again I guess this blog is still under construction?).
You can do better with a cleaner, simpler, and probably less grungy-looking font. Probably more modern or elegant as it reflects your photography?
Also the tweet box and the Google Adsense ad. Both use white background colors. It doesn’t blend well to the site. Maybe you can use a lighter grey color.
