• Hi everyone, newbie here. I am already a WordPress user, (I also purchased my domain there) but the thing is I want to further my blog into a full website. In order for me to do that and enable custom templates and certain html codes I would have to get a host. Well, I went to GoDaddy.com for hosting. For starters I purchased the Economy Linux plan and I’m kinda stuck. I have followed all the instructions on how to set up a SQL, edit/configure the text, etc. Somehow when I tried to go on “www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/install.php it didnt work. It’s showing a 404 error. I don’t know if being a Mac user has anything to do with it? (maybe i have to download additional software or something?)

Since that didn’t work out right. I decided to deleted everything and start from scratch as if I newly signed up for hosting on GoDaddy.com. The first time I attempted, I noticed that I installed the WordPress app inside the GoDaddy.com website. Should have I done that, considering that I already have a blog on WordPress already?

P.S. if anyone out there can help, thank you :). This have been day 2 and I have read a bunch of other forum post, video tutorials, codex, everything! i dont know where I’m going wrong 🙁

  • you will want to first of all get your domain working on Godaddy (their one click install or whatever, should do everything for you?)

then after that you can import your content from your blog at WordPress.com
