• I try to log onto my wordpress and I get this error message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘=’, expecting ‘)’ in /home/content/v/e/n/venetianware/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce/wpsc-includes/category.functions.php on line 238.

I was updating plugins when this happened. What can I do to fix it..PLEASE?

  • Re-upload a fresh copy of the wp-e-commerce plugin to the wp-content/plugins folder using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately, I cannot even log into my host. My host is wordpress and when I go to the log-in page the same error message already pops up. Any other suggestions?

    THank you Esmi

Your host is not WordPress. You cannot use plugins on a wordpress.com site. You need to find out who your hosts are.

My host is godaddy.com. I called them and we figured our that WP 3.1.2 (the version that I upgrated to) does not support plug in WP e-commerce3.8.3. Is there any way that I can revert to the old WP version or does anyone know about a newer WP e-commerce plug in that is compatible?

    thank you

I’m pretty sure that the latest version of WP-Ecommerce is compatible with WP 3.1.2

Then do you have ANY idea what is going on!>?!

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
