Media uploads not working after database move

I moved my site from a windows server to linux server
after the move things seem to work fine for the most part but media uploads, I can’t upload images for post.

under settings for media settings are the same as before

getting the following error:
The uploaded file could not be moved to /var/www/html/wp-content/uploads/2011/05.

Maximum upload file size is not the issue
Directory is correct
tried the highest chmod on both wp-content folder and uploads with no luck.

Anybody have any ideas????

I hope someone can help with this because I’m lost
