• I’m getting some buggy behavior with w3 total cache when attempting to minify a number of external javascipts.

I navigate to: w3 total cache > minify then click the hints ‘help’ button which opens the ‘minify help wizard’.

The screen becomes scrambled with the external scripts called up by the wizard getting mixed in with settings from the regular ‘minify’ screen.

To ‘untangle’ this I use the browser’s vertical scroll bar to the right to push the ‘minify help wizard’ below the ‘notes’ section at the bottom of the default minify screen.

The wizard in its entirety never is seen as it gets truncated at about mid-screen showing only 5 or 6 external scripts –some checked and others not, and neither showing a ‘save settings’ button I imagine would be at the very bottom of the wizard screen as in the other minify sections.

Make sense? Need a screen shot?

    My site is here.

Right, that’s exactly what it looks like. Thanks for the screen shot.

I’ve upgraded to the most recent version of W3TC which now has resolved the minify > help wizard to open in its own window.

But, it’s still not possible to scroll down and click “Save and Apply”
as the wizard remains stuck mid-point at the bottom of the browser window.

    same. still having issues.

The issue of the wizard remaining stuck at the bottom of the browser window seems to have resolved. Maybe clearing the browser cache had something to do with it, but I don’t know for sure.

After clicking ‘help’ two external JS objects and seven external CSS objects identified for the theme (Thesis).

I select “add the files you wish to minify, then click “apply & close” to save the settings” but don’t know if these settings are set.

When reopening the help wizard the same CSS and JS objects appear with unchecked check boxes.

In Yslow there are still no improvements in grade. Http requests are still an F.

    • This page has 13 external Javascript scripts. Try combining them into one.
    • This page has 9 external stylesheets. Try combining them into one.

I can not find a way to even access the minify wizard in the current release. I’d like to place the JS in the footer as well but can’t. Can someone help me with finding this wizard?

You must set minify from automatic to manual. (General Settings)
The mimify help wizard only appears in manual mode.

Is anyone still having any issues with the latest release?

    definitely still having the problem.

Please submit a bug submission from the support tab of the plugin if you’re still having any issues with the latest release for best support.

Can anyone please post a good link for w3 total cache settings tutorial? I am getting the same issue with yslow. I think i haven’t been able to set up w3 total cache properly. My yslow core is up 6 points after switching to w3 total from super cache. But still this is one frustrating thing (external scripts not combined in single file) that i would like to get around with. So far all my searches have not worked for this issue.
