WYSIWYG buttons

    I am having trouble with some very basic functions.
    First is there a resource that discribes the function of the buttons on the visual edit page / post, page?
    I am trying to use the link tool and it does not seem to work. If I highlight some text or select an immage the tool becomes active, but nothing happens when click on the button. Well almost nothing, I get an error on page message.

    Have you tried to disable all your plugins and switch to the twentyten theme? This will rule out plugin or theme problems.

    I am currently using 2010 1.2
    I could deactivate the plug-ins and then activate them 1 at a time to determine the culprit?
    What is supposed to happen when the link button is clicked?

    The first thing you should do is upgrade.

    Yes, disabling and reactivating will rule out plugins but I can’t say how back word compatible a recent version of a plugin would be.

    When the link button works, clicking on it brings up a window for link information.

    WP Synonym Plugin 1.5
    Was the culprit,

    Did you just upgrade wordpress?
