Looking for a plugin to show fighter availability

Hi,
Does anyone know a plugin that will allow me to create a searchable, customizable resource availability calendar?
I am creating a site for a friend which has to store details of 100 or so muay thai fighters, and allow searches by weight, experience and availability. I was hoping to use something similar to a holiday cottage booking system and modify it a little, but so far have had little luck, they either only allow for 1 resource or they don’t allow search by multiple fields, or they don’t allow the fields to be renamed etc.
Anyone point me in the direction of a plugin that might work, or failing that a simple how to create a new database and access it from wordpress?
