Problem with main page set-up

Hey all,

I’m using WP to make a website, not a blog…so I’m using pages not posts.

I want to place content on my main domain e.g. http://www.hypotheticalwebsite.com

When I make a page, the URL becomes what I designate as the the heading of the page article, then I can edit that if I want.

e.g. http://www.hypotheticalwebsite.com/leash-training

Now, when I set up a new page, I place nothing in the article title area, hoping that it will just show up as http://www.hypotheticalwebsite.com and nothing more. But it automatically places random numbers and dashes for the sub-folder.

e.g. http://www.hypotheticalwebsite.com/333-1

How do I make a page for my main URL http://www.hypotheticalwebsite.com?
