    hi !
    a newbie here ..and ptetty dumb one to say the least..
    my installation prob is this ;:
    after downloadig /uploading and renaming the php file ..i then go to my website url..type in the needed url and nothing just a blank page..
    what have i done wrong ??

    erm .. what.. they say to rename the congig-sample.php to config.php

    The correct file is actually wp-config-sample.php. And if you do not create it, WordPress will create it for you. If you do create it, then you must also add your db name, username, password, host and special keys.

    did all that esmi ..but somthing went wrong i am now deloading it all and start again…i said i was dumb but this simple little thing has me bambooseld.. i recently upgraded my host as to make sure it has all i need fr WP..

    once you uploaded your wordpress files and folder as they are and go on your domain name you will have the install program that walk you through creating wp-config.php file and install steps.

    govpatel thanks ..but ellaborate plz….in simple terms i am new at this..
    i have just made another F***up..sombody told me i needed the “PHP myadmin” program..it wont wok and now i cant delete it so now my once clean sever is now unclean grrrrrrrr this is begining to turn into a nightmare

    hey i keep getting this message when trying to upload a theme The uploaded file could not be moved to /index/wp-content/uploads/2011/04.

    can u help me?

    How are trying to install a theme as it suppose upload in wp-content/themes folder log in admin and click on appearance and themes and install themes

    looks like there is some problem in your install as if you doing it admin panel then there is no way it could go in wp-content/uploads/2011/04 as that is for media

    not too sure what you mean…but my website is hosted by freenet.de..they have allocated me aspace on strato.. if that makes any sense??
    i have errased all on my server (clean) and installed newest version from WP.
    now i get a message that says “Error establishing a database connection “
    i feel as if i am getting somwhere because b4 i got a blank page..
    it must be somthing i am doing wrong but i have followed to the letter the instuctions..even gon to youtube and went allong with the videos..

    ok guys..resolved.. a buddy of mine and a user of yours helped me out
    i am in …haaaaaaaaaaa yeh !
    i would like to thank everybody who helped me through the first days as a WP user .. i hope one day to be in a possition to do the same for you..
