Creating custom content fields advice

Creating my first WP from scratch. Its working so far. The site is CMS, completely non-blog. I’m looking to have specific editable content on each page that goes beyond the the_content() capabilities. Essentially, for EACH page, I want an editable banner photo and and editable title (that is different than the title of the page). These will be consistent on every page. How can I get these fields to show up so the user can edit them?

The built Custom Fields seems like a lot of work for the user to do that for every page, and some of the custom content plug-ins seem too advanced – ie creating new kinds of pages etc. I’m looking just to have 2 custom fields – a photo and a title – that the user can edit on each page.

Any advice on the best way to go about this would be great.
