Error message on pages with category blogs

Here’s my website: Hello!!

I’ve created categories for my appearances, book reviews, crime sisters, and ‘read my blog’ pages. I then chose the “blog style” template for these pages, checked the appropriate category box, and wrote some trial posts.

The first trial was for my blog page and worked perfectly. My post published to my blog page without also showing up on my homepage. But for my other pages there’s a problem: My category posts show up in both places (see my appearances page and the post). I’ve made sure that the default ‘home’ category has been unchecked and the correct category checked.

BTW, if an error message shows up on one of my pages, that’s because I haven’t created a blog post yet for that page. I’m not sure why I get that message, though, instead of a notice.

Any suggestions?
