User groups – help! Using UAM plugin

Hi

Im almost done with porting a joomla 1.0 site to wordpress 3.1.1

Now comes the tough part:
Site is publicly accessible for all apart from a couple of sections thatneed registered users belong to certain groups.

I have 600 users on the site, split in to 4 groups. Super administrators, press and promoters, office.

Superadmin, well that’s me. Full read/write/administrate rights.

Press – access to pages with downloadable high resolution images.
Promoters – access to section with dpcuments, posters, images etc that they need.
Office – can access both press and promoters

Press promoters and office ONLY have read rights.

UAM doesn’t seem to be good enough for this. Any other suggestions? Buddy Press?

The Joomla version is running a JUGA plugin to get this working and so far it’s been fine but now it’s getting old. Need to refresh.

Please help, it’s kind of urgent.
