    Folks,

    I’m new in this. I’m trying to replace my current WordPress theme on my GoDaddy.com site with another WP theme. But unlike with a WP site, there’s no button which I can click to install a new theme on the site. It has the option for me download the theme, which I have done. I’m now trying to find out how I can install the WP theme from my Desktop to my GoDaddy site.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

    Mustafa

    You can upload the theme from your desktop directly to your /wp-content/themes directory using an ftp client, or the file manager in your hosts control panel.

    Be sure to un-zip it first, and make sure that you upload the theme folder and files only. Sometimes you will find that after decompression, you have two directories deep;

    /themename/themename/theme_files

    Make sure you only upload /themename/theme_files. There is some good information in this article. Using Themes

    Thank you, ClaytonJames, for your very useful tips and reference material. They will certainly help me customize and install a theme I like.

    By the way, do you know how much WP web developers charge to customize and install a theme?

    Thanks again.

    I’m not sure that there is any set pricing structure. It depends on the size of the job and the type of customization involved. Best to check around a bit on that one.

    Thanks, ClaytonJames. Would you know of any sites where I can contact some starving WP theme editors?
