    Lets try this again.
I would be grateful if someone could help me find a solution to the problem I am having logging into the new WordPress blog I’ve installed.
I’ve already gone through the troubleshooting page and through this forum for weeks and still nothing.
I’ve deactivated my plug-ins, changed my theme and un-installed and reinstalled WordPress 5 times through Go Daddy. I have some HTML experience, but had trouble with the 5-minute do-it-yourself WordPress install.
I already have a couple WordPress blogs hosted in the same place on Go Daddy. Neither are WordPress 3.1 and both log-ins work fine.
Now I’ve installed WordPress 3.1 in the host and for some reason I’m having a problem logging in. I’ve also read the 3.1 sticky on problem solving. Nothing.
When I go to my blog “http://pizzaposse.net” and click on “log in” under the meta heading, I cannot login.
If I use “http://doughark.com/pizzaposse/wp-login.php”, my password works.
    Any ideas?

  • I noticed that your entire site is being framed into root from a sub-directory. You could leave it in the sub-directory but serve it from root?

Giving WordPress its Own Directory While Leaving Your Blog in the Root Directory

Just so we’re comparing apples to apples, are your other working sites also completely framed in this manner?

Thanks for getting back to me.

What you see is the way it was installed from godaddy.
In my host (godaddy) at doughark.com I have a folders titled pizzaposse. My latest WordPress blog is in there.
I also installed the other blogs the same way.
When I open my FTP I can see all three folders/blogs.

I hope this clears things up. I’m not exactly sure what is meant by “entire site is being framed into root from a sub-directory”. I’m self-taught in my computer skills.

Your blog shows at doughark.com, however it doesn’t reside there. It’s located one level deep in the pizzaposse directory. Viewing the source when you visit doughark.com, revealed that your blog was being framed into a page (an iframe pointing to your pizzaposse directory) in your root directory. I also noticed that it has since been changed, and “The Hark Company” site is now present at doughark.com while your blog is at //doughark.com/pizzaposse/. I assume you must have worked it all out ok.

Thanks again ClaytonJames for your response. It’s nice to see people stepping up and assisting others.

Here is what I just found out after talking to godaddy. Something happened in the cyber world of godaddy and me installing this WordPress 3.1.

I’ve been doing the same thing with many WordPress blogs and about 40 domain names on the economy hosting service through godaddy since 2002. And everything has worked fine. As you stated it put everything into one directory.
After talking with godaddy he tells me about what you’re talking about with separate folders and directories. BUT when he starts looking at my blogs and the links he can’t figure out how and why they ARE working the way they worked.

To make things simple I just upgraded to the deluxe plan through godaddy and he said its suppose to take care of the problem. I’ve started the process, but it’ll take a few hours for things to go through.

I’ve seen others on this forum with login problems and godaddy. I’d suggest they give godaddy a call. They were MORE than helpful.

Thanks again for your impute. I’ll check back in when everything is working and mark this resolved.

Switching over to the deluxe hosting package, has solved my log in problem.
