Index page not showing posts

Hello all, when I launch my website locally, my home page-which is my index page, loads all my blog posts correctly. But when I click through on my main navigation links (i.e, about, contact, etc) and go back to my home page (index) the blog posts are gone and the replacement text reads “Home and edit this entry”. Please help, thank you : )
