problem with updating to wordpress 3.1

    Hi, I have a problem with updating my wordpress from 3.0.5. version to 3.1
    after providing the hostname and all the other details I get the msg:

    Unable to locate WordPress Root directory.

    Installation Failed

    any idea what is wrong? I am the very beginner in the wordpress world so
    any help will be much appreciated, thanks!
