sculpinto,
During the installation you don’t need to modify wp-sample-config.php file. You need to rename it on your local computer to wp-config.php file and upload it to server along with the sample. Set write (777) permissions for wp-config.php and then access your wordpress. You’ll see installation wizard, just follow the instructions on the screen. Once installed change permissions of wp-config.php back to 644 (or 444).
ok I renamed the config file, uploaded it and and when I open my site I get a complete blank site…
recheck your wp-config.php and see if you have right database information and check with your host if you need to use for database host if it is other then localhost
thanks i’ll check it out!
Yea, that was my mistake today, sorry. wp-config.php will be created automatically by wordpress during the installation process, or you need to upload it with correct database info and continue the installation.
yes, i have uploaded it and after I tried to open my website, then it said again the wp-config.php file was missing…I pressed continue and it takes mi to a place where i put the data…I did it and the last page it shows me is that wordpress couldn’t create the file but gives me the script to copy and paste it on a wordpad document then name it wp-config and upload it… when i do this it says, I’m sorry i need a file wp-config-sample.php to work with…
Start biggining delete wp-config.php and upload wp-config-sample.php and just go to your install url
domainname/wp-admin/install.php and see if your install script opens and tells you to create a wp-config.php file just follow instruction on program.
