Import from ModBlog?

Hello, I am new to WordPress and am essentially learning “coding” as I go. I have things decently figured out. I have tried to do an import from my old blogging platfor at ModBlog but can’t seem to get it to work. I belive it is because their export XML is not in standard form. Any suggestions or has anyone wrote a script to handle Modblog?
