sidebar css help

I thought I made my wordpress theme so that the sidebar is flush against the menu on top. There is a minor gap of white space. How do I fix this?

I’m using a text box in the sidebar with basic html to draw the photo. I couldn’t figure out how to style the photo as a background for the sidebar.
