• I have an apostrophe in the title of a post. When I preview it, the permalink looks ok (it removes the apostrophe). When I update the post and check the website, I get an error. The address has some strange characters where the apostrophe was.

I can correct this by not using apostrophe’s in the title, but that would not look too good.

  • What characters are you seeing? %27 or something else? If it’s something else, yo may be using “curly quotes” which are the typesetting left and right versions. Not entirely compatible with browsers. I checked one of my posts that has a apos (plain ol’ single quote) in the title and it’s stripped, so don’t know right off what may be happening between your preview and publish that would change it; other than the curly situation, above.

I aggregated an article and it looks like it is using something like “curly quotes” or some other strange apostrophe. I just have to go in and erase and retype the apostrophe or quote.
