Your upgrade did not complete successfully.
Try:
– switching to the Twenty Ten theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. You may need to try logging into your site to get this to kick in fully.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
– re-running the upgrade manually.
Thanks esmi.
I assume that you meant that if I renamed my current theme’s folder to something else (anything else), that WP would default to Twenty Ten as the theme. Otherwise I am not sure how to make Twenty Ten my theme, since I cannot log in to wp-admin. So … I did rename my current theme’s folder. (The theme was Enterprise, so I named the folder enterprisebak.)
I also followed the instructions for resetting my plugins folder, up to the point where it said to log in to my wp-admin (which I cannot do).
These did not solve my problem, so now I will try the manual upgrade. I assume this means finding the WP 3.1 distribution file and using FTP to deploy it in my WP directory. Will my database with all my old content be protected if I do this?
Thanks again.
I am having the same problem…however, I do not know how to do the manual upgrade & would like to know if my original content will be lost.
HELP! During an upgrade…something drastically went wrong! I cannot login to my wordpress page & I keep getting errors as I try to tweak things to make the code work. I am more than willing to completely start over, without losing all of my “stuff” on my site. Can someone help me? I have tried to upgrade manually – but the only way I can do this is if I upload one file at a time. I use netfirms as my host. I have tried using FileZilla…but I do not know my “host name” to login. I am so beyond upset! I have spent a whole day working on this. WASTED a whole day working on this. http://www.whami.org
Thanks in advance.
