WAMP vs. XAMPP

    Hello:

    I’m new to this forum and WordPress. I want to install WordPress on my laptop for learning. I read the installation instructions and there is mention of WAMP. I have XAMPP installed on my machine. Can I use the WAMP installation process for XAMPP?

    They are two different server programs it is matter of preference which one you like.

    I understand that. My question is whether the WordPress installation for XAMPP is the same as for WAMPP?

    Yes. Exactly the same. The files simply have to land in a web-accessible directory on a properly configured server environment that supports the minimum requirements for running WordPess.
