why does WP auto-complete the a-tag?

    If I write a post or a page containitg:
    <a href="#something"> bla </a>

    WP autocompletes it with
    <a href="http://www.thewholedamnpath.com/?page_id=291#something">bla</a>

    I sincerely don’t need this feature,
    so, what is the way to bypass it?
