• Hi,

I’m new to wordpress and website hosting in general. I’m trying to build my homepage in 6 different languages and want to have a blog as part of it. Thus, I decided to create a multisite in order to have different pages with different links so a visitor that was already in my website english version, let’s say, wouldn’t jump to the portuguese version, in which is the main blog, when accessed the blog.

Now, I would like to post the exact same entry in each one of the 6 blogs and give the option in the post itself to the visitor to click and choose another language, in case I translated it. I already have the Google Ajax Translation for machine translation. I tried qtranslate and I don’t remember why I trashed it away, I think it was because it worked according to the browser definitions. That would put a person, like me, that has english as first language in the computer directly reading the english version instead of the original that is always more appropriated.

Getting to the point, is there a way to change the code or some plugin in order to post the same entry with the same permanlink in different blogs?

In the moment I have Diamond Multisite to post in several blogs at the same time, but he does it individually, and my aim was that a post shared the same comment box in all the different box.

Thank you for your answer and sorry for my long and complicated explanation.

    guilherme

sorry, forgot to post the addresses to my blog so you could see what I’m trying to achieve:

    main: http://pedroguilherme.com/blog
    es: http://pedroguilherme.com/blog/es
    en: http://pedroguilherme.com/blog/en

If that’s what you really want, then you don’t need multisite. you need a single site with something like qtranslate.

but in that way, if people were in other page of my website they would jump to the portuguese version. As in this example:

    visitor is in:
    pedroguilherme.com/en/video
which has all template and texts in english and clicks in blog, going to:
    pedroguilherme.com/blog
which has all template and texts in portuguese, with the links to the other pages on the site also directed to the portuguese version.

In this way I would never be able to adapt the other language versions to my website template and visitor would be force to use the “back” button, that after being able to realize that was in a different language version on my website. I wanted to fully integrate all the languages, so that the user wouldn’t feel any jump on the domain. Also, maybe I’ll want to add a translation to some post some months later and post as recent in that language blog version, instead of being stuck back in the calendar.

And that’s why I went for multisite as a solution.

no, you’re misunderstanding how it works.

A user would visit, pick their language, and ANY page they visit would show in their language.

you do not need to redirect anything or make multiple posts.

Or have a look at the wpml plugin.

multisite is not the solution here.

    hi andrea,
you were right, I was misunderstanding it.

Anyway qTranslate seems to be able to give the same comments for every translation, even if the posts have different URLs and that’s basically all that I wanted. How can one get to do that?
